Deep Tonguing

So here is the trek of the tongue. It found it's way to all sorts of nooks and crannies. If you want to see it in person, it's currently at the Night Gallery in Tempe Marketplace or if you would like to see a few more pics stop by my official website: http://www.nathaniellewis.net/

Just a Taste...

Hey Folks,
I know it's been a while, but I'm back to blogging. Here are some shots of the process for my giant tongue. I'll be posting the rest soon!

I carved the foam and
I used a hopper gun for texture

Covered it in resin

Get back on the horse, young man.

Well, Two weeks was enough of a break. Back to work. Here are some shots of a children's book loosely based on my thesis show. The working title is "Monster, Me". I'm also starting a sculpture that is kind of hard to visualize right now, I can't find which sketchbook it's in so for now your are going to have to trust me on this one.

Also, Check out my website for some new panorama's of the show. If you didn't get to see it, these give you a pretty good idea of what it looked like.  If you would like to see a modified version of "Bigger than you" you can see it at the "Night Gallery" in Tempe Marketplace from now until June 1st!  Check it out.  There are one or two new pieces for those who have seen the show before.

Best,
-N

"Now, I am the master."

So, thesis came and went. What a ride. For those of you who didn't see my thesis show, "bigger than you" in the Harry Wood Gallery at ASU, it was April 5-9, 2010. I got a lot of great feedback Thank you to everyone who helped and the few and the proud who went above and beyond the call of duty. I've updated my website:

The End is Nigh!

Well, here it comes! Only 2 1/2 weeks to go. I don't want to ruin anything, so I'm holding back I'm afraid. Here is a sneak peak of the big momma and my post card. Things are going well, the "TO DO" list is getting ever shorter. Hope to see you there! In the mean time I hope you get the chance to check out Lynette Andreason's show that is up until March 19th.

What the flock?!

So I'm not going to lie, I feel bad about not updating.  I appreciate everyone who's been checking in the last three months, but lets just say something popped up (or out) in early November and I've been taking a lot more pictures of this baby than anything else.
So, you can see some of these fellows get the auto treatment and others get the muppet treatment.  I bought the fabric for the big guys and I'll be working on them once the bulk of the little guys are done.  Enjoy!
