Just a Taste...

Hey Folks,
I know it's been a while, but I'm back to blogging. Here are some shots of the process for my giant tongue. I'll be posting the rest soon!
-Nathan

I carved the foam and
I used a hopper gun for texture

Covered it in resin

Primed it
Painted
Next time:
We get to see where the tongue goes!

  2. LOVE IT! What did you use to carve the foam with? And what kind of resin is that? Can you get that at a hardware store? I think those materials would work well with an art piece I've been wanting to do but know very little about this kind of stuff. I would appreciate it!

  3. that tongue is crazy! taking it around to the various sites looks like fun.

i second Wayside's curiousity about the materials; is there somewhere online that you discuss them? trade secret? (i make lifesize-ish skulls from foam and papier mache for Dia de los Muertos each year. the resin and stuff looks like something that would work well.)

    keep up the fine work!
